DM Laser-Fab specialise in the design, manufacture and installation of industrial kitchen extract canopies. 

In essence an extract canopy is a device intended to collect air contaminants from above cooking appliances and remove them from the room. 

Canopies are designed generally in accordance with HVCA Specification DW/172. 

Each canopy contains a full-length stainless-steel grease filter housing, which can contain either single- or double-sided filter banks. 

Canopies are constructed from 1.2mm (18G) thick, grade 304 satin finish stainless steel, and have an all welded construction with a perimeter condense channel, complete with drain plug contained with the channel. 

All joints and seams are fully welded and/or liquid tight.

Canopies can be manufactured in a ‘supply air’ design which includes sperate internal plenums with front facing specially laser cut grills. This allows fresh air to be fed into the kitchen via the canopy hood replenishing extracted air and ensuring a more comfortable efficient working environment.

TYPE 2 PREMIUM BAFFLE FILTERS are used in our canopies to extract grease laden air and act as a fire barrier.

Fire barriers prevent any cooking flames traveling past the extract canopy. Filters are fabricated with safety edges on frame and blades. 

The Type 2 Filter is 45mm deep, this is required for the filter to operate at a constant efficiency and to protect the system as a flame barrier, tested to European Standard DIN 18869-5 and American Standard UL1046. 

As standard all baffles are manufactured with Stainless Steel 430 high polished finish.

Maximum Operating temperature of the Canopy is 400C or 750F.

Recessed light units can also be provided in the canopy if required. These robust units conform to IP55, with slim line battens and tubes, compact design and curved safety corners including 304 grade Stainless Steel lid with toughened glass

Lights come fully assembled with upgraded heat resistant seals.

Light units provide efficient T5 high frequency lighting with high lux and high output.
